    Oramatel

    • Independent advice for Australian small and mid-size businesses on what to keep, upgrade or replace in their network, with no hardware sales and no vendor margin.
    • Fixed-price firewall end-of-life assessments, network design and rollouts, migrations, MPLS-to-SD-WAN, and ongoing support.
    • Automates the routine work (configuration backups, firmware tracking, alert triage) with Python and workflow tooling instead of doing it by hand.
    • Built and runs networkeol.au, a free end-of-support lookup for 69 firewall models, with dates taken from vendor bulletins.

  2. Senior Solution Consultant – Network Engineer

    Byte (Professional Services)

    • Led enterprise network projects end to end, from discovery and design through migration and handover, on scope, time and budget.
    • Moved a client's core routing from Cisco Nexus to Catalyst 8000V, re-engineering routing logic in the lab first so the production cutover was low-risk.
    • Migrated Palo Alto firewalls between VMware and Equinix OpenStack environments, with central policy management in Panorama.
    • Designed on-premises, private-cloud and public-cloud interconnection over Equinix Fabric, removing legacy WAN constraints.
    • Escalation point for complex incidents, and ran structured network assessments to surface risk before it became an outage.

  3. Senior Network Engineer & Tech Lead, Professional Services

    • Led a team of network engineers in a managed-services business: scheduling, service levels, coaching, and the senior on-call roster.
    • Planned and delivered secure network rollouts, with high-level and low-level designs and as-built documentation for every job.
    • Automated repetitive deployment tasks to cut client deployment times, and wrote the team's network standards.
    • Designed LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN, internet and cloud connectivity end to end, using Ekahau predictive surveys to place wireless access points.

  4. Senior Network Engineer

    Access4 (UCaaS / CCaaS provider)

    • Designed, built and ran the national multivendor MPLS network (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade) carrying data, voice and internet services.
    • Designed the BGP transit and peering policy and the internet edge on Juniper MX routers.
    • Ran highly available Juniper SRX firewalls for corporate internet access, DMZ and SSL VPN.
    • Introduced IT procedure standards that reduced downtime by 20%.

  5. Network Engineer, then Senior Network & Systems Engineer

    Aptel (Asian Pacific Telecommunications)

    • Delivered the network, wireless hotspot and VoIP infrastructure for a hotel chain of 2,500+ rooms.
    • Built an in-house monitoring system from open-source tools and custom scripts, replacing an outsourced monitoring service.
    • Deployed Fortinet firewalls (with FortiAnalyzer) and pfSense appliances for cloud-hosted services, and ran a five-node Cisco CUCM cluster.
    • Started as a network engineer on Cisco routing and switching, provisioning and after-hours support, and trained two network technicians.
